After a long beta cycle, Apple released the macOS 11.5 release candidate to developers and public beta testers today. The version comes with bug fixes for the Music app and an update for the Podcasts app.
Update 7/19: Apple has released an updated version of Release Candidate for macOS 11.5.
iOS 14.7 and watchOS 7.6 were officially released to the public today, but Apple is still tweaking macOS 11.5 with a new version RC – 20G71.
If you’re signed up for the Developer Program or Public Beta, the OTA for macOS 11.5 RC should appear soon if you haven’t already. You can also download the beta from Apple’s developer website.
There haven’t been many changes for users discovered in the beta of macOS 11.5, but Apple detailed what to expect in the RC release notes today.
macOS Big Sur 11.5 includes the following enhancements for your Mac:
- The Podcast Library tab allows you to choose to see all shows or only watched shows
This release also fixes the following issues:
- Music may not update the number of plays and date of last play in your library
- Smart cards may not work when connecting to Mac computers with M1 chip
