Apple released the third beta version of macOS Monterey 12.4 to developers and public beta testers on Tuesday. The new beta comes a week after the release of the second macOS Monterey 12.4 beta.
The developer version of macOS Monterey 12.4 can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center and once the correct profile is installed, subsequent beta versions will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.
Registered public beta testers can download and install the new macOS 12.4 Monterey public beta through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences after installing the appropriate profile.
Mac users who want to be part of Apple’s beta testing program can sign up to participate on the Apple Beta Software Program websitewhich allows users to access beta versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS
Apple also includes information that Universal Control in the new iPadOS 15.5 and macOS Monterey 12.4 updates are not compatible with macOS 12.3 and iOS 15.4. He suggests as a workaround to install both macOS 12.4 and iOS 15.5 betas.
We don’t yet know what other features may appear in macOS Monterey 12.4, but if we find anything new, we’ll let you know in this space.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users not to install betas on their daily Mac driver, but only install betas on devices reserved for testing.
