LEBANON, OH – A pair of 1: 51.3 miles dominated the action on Thursday, Jan.6 at Miami Valley Raceway with Ubuntu (Dan Noble) demolishing a $ 30,000 field claiming pointers and GD Western Joe (Chris Page) elevated to rank winner of the $ 30,000 Rhythm Open I.

Blank Stare actually reached the finish line first in the Open, but was convicted of drifting into Sectionline Bigry, forcing him to check a bit late in the stretch ride.

When the lane along the pylons opened up, it allowed GD Western Joe to close in a hurry and finish second before finally being named the official winner by the judges.

It was the 34th career victory for GD Western Joe, coached by Ron Burke, and raised the seven-year-old son of True Desire bankroll at $ 727,030.

Ubuntu used gate-to-wire tactics to defeat enemies and claim their fourth straight victory in Ohio. After winning a $ 12,500 claim at Hollywood Dayton in early December, the five-year-old Pet stone Hongre notched another pair of triumphs in claimable events at $ 15,000 before making a double jump in class to secure the latter success against $ 30,000 in claiming a competition.

Races will resume on Sunday afternoon with the usual start time of 4:05. Miami Valley runs Sunday through Thursday in 2022.
