Microsoft’s Panos Panay talks about new Windows 11 features and devices at Computex 2022

Computex 2022 is currently taking place in Taipei, and many announcements and discussions are taking place around the technology in the PC space. Among those companies is Microsoft, which spoke with Executive Vice President Panos Panay about Windows 11 and this “new era” for the PC.

The talk, titled “The New Era of the PC: A Conversation on Windows 11” on YouTube offers an interesting insight into how Microsoft sees the momentum of Windows 11 so far. The 30-minute discussion opens with a brief overview of several new features that have been tested in the Insider program over the past few months.

Panay and Microsoft focus on new accessibility features in Windows 11, highlighting how Windows is designed to be as inclusive as possible. It also mentions new Windows devices from partners such as Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc., noting that its partner ecosystem is “working at full speed”.

Microsoft also mentioned some interesting statistics. According to the company, since the start of the pandemic, 70% more people have been streaming content from Netflix, Hulu and YouTube on Windows devices. The number of people using communication apps such as Slack and Zoom on Windows has also increased sixfold.

Overall, the Windows PC ecosystem is booming right now, according to Microsoft. The company says Windows 11 is its most powerful release yet, and is also the most secure release yet thanks to support for things like Pluto, Secure-Core PCs, and more.
